Industrial engineering department is one of the six departments at the Government Technical Institute (Insein) which was reopened in 2017-2018 academic year.Before GTI (Insein) was reopened, the DTVET planned to open the industrial department and so made some teachers visit to industries in Yangon and Mandalay for industrial data survey.After collecting data from the industries and making workshop to design curriculum for the industrial engineering, the IE department prepared the curriculum needed for the industries.Therefore, the curriculum for the industrial engineering was approved by the National Education Policy Council (NEPC).
The IE department opens three-years A.G.T.I diploma course and short term training courses. There are six faculties for teaching and learning .
