INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
Industrial Engineering is the branch of engineering that concerns the development, improvement, implementation and evaluation of integrated system of people, knowledge , equipment, energy, material and process.Industrial engineering draws upon the principles and methods of engineering analysis and synthesis. It eliminates waste of time, money, materials, energy and other resources. Industrial engineering is also known as operation management, production engineering, or manufacturing engineering depending on the viewpoint or motives of the user.
Before we designed the curriculum, we made industrial data survey at Yangon and Mandalay. Based on the results of industrial data survey and several workshops with experienced technicians from the private industries, experienced teachers from the Department of Vocational Educational
Moreover, Industrial Engineering curriculum is one of the subjects approved by National Education Policy Council (NEPC).
Since the curriculum for the industrial engineering is designed for only three-years A.G.T.I diploma course, the curriculum is mainly focus on automation (Programmable Logic Controller PLC and Computer Numerical Control CNC ).
P
Vision
The vision of Department of Industrial Engineering is to provide the excellent knowledge, skills and altitude related to automation in the field of Industrial Engineering with a focus to nurture the competent engineering technicians essential for fulfilling the industrial needs, improving society and environment, and developing economy of the country.
Mission
- To prepare the students with strong fundamental concepts, analytical capability, and problem-solving skills related to Industrial Engineering to nurture the necessary skilled technicians for automation factories according to the new technologies.
- To enhance department-industry collaboration through internship programs to make the students as far as possible industry ready to enhance their employability in the industries and enterprises and fulfil the industrial needs.
- To promote interpersonal skills, operational management and leadership skills in students through various extra-curricular and co-curricular events.
- To provide opportunities to promote lifelong learning opportunities and develop social awareness and responsibility in students to serve the society and promote environmental sustainability.
Program Educational Objectives
Industrial Engineering Course is well organized in cooperation with private industry and government to provide the students with practical experience in industrial engineering.Based on the results of industrial data survey and in line with Vocational vision and mission, program education objectives of industrial engineering are to produce technicians(within three years of graduation) who will be able to-
- apply principles of engineering
- use, maintain and draw design Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems.
- apply Auto CAD
- use Industrial Motor Control
- write CNC program
- operate CNC
- write PLC program
- plan operational management
Course structure
Before we designed the curriculum, we made industrial data survey at Yangon and Mandalay. Program educational objectives are clearly designed in line with vocational vision and mission. Moreover, survey on expectations of three year diploma students out of Industrial Engineering Programme were conducted. Based on the results of industrial data survey and in line with Vocational vision and mission, program education objectives are refined as follows.
Moreover, Industrial Engineering curriculum is one of the subjects approved by National Education Policy Council (NEPC).
